 The
Southwestern Indiana Red Cross was the first non-governmental agency
to request and receive a state donation of 7.2 acres of land on
the 200-acre state hospital site at the corner of the Lloyd Expressway
and Stockwell Road. The Red Cross is currently collaborating
with the Evansville State Hospital, Southwestern Indiana Mental
Health, Boy Scouts, Preservation Park and the Iroquois Neighborhood
Association to create a complex that coordinates services and functions
for the optimum benefit of the community.
