Fan Club |
The American Red Cross has teamed up with Papa John's and WEHT-TV News 25 again this year for the News 25 Fan Club. This partnership helps to provide electric fans for low-income families and seniors in the hot months ahead.
On Wednesday July 11th, participating Papa John's restaurants in Evansville and surrounding areas will donate $1 from each pizza sold to aid in the effort to purchase fans for those in need. Free-will donations will also be accepted at all participating store locations.
The money raised through the News 25 Fan Club will help The American Red Cross provide fans for low-income and elderly individuals who need protection from the summer heat.
The American Red Cross would like to challenge all area businesses to participate in this one day event by encouraging their employees to order Papa John’s pizza during their lunch and dinner breaks. To place advanced orders for pickup or delivery on Wednesday, July 11th, call your neighborhood Papa John’s.

My hero would be a firefighter. … One night while I was sleeping, the house next door caught fire. The firefighters got there as fast as they could so it wouldn’t catch our house on fire. … And firefighters helped in 9/11. When the planes crashed into the buildings, the firefighters went in and saved as many people as they could; in fact, they tried so hard that some of them died. When I grow up, I want to be someone’s hero! |

… A hero is someone who is loving and peaceful. I believe that these two virtues are among the most important in our world. Even if they simply are kind to others or fight for peace, anyone who shows either of these two virtues is a true hero. … A hero is someone who is optimistic. Maybe they remain cheerful even when bad news or even death is on the horizon or try to spread happiness among people who are stricken by grief and sadness. They are all heroes. |

…While it is good to recognize heroes, it is even better to emulate them. Few people face situations that call for high-profile heroics, but nearly everyone has an opportunity in life to face difficulty with courage and grace. As long as people have needs, there are opportunities for service to others. Real heroes quietly make a positive difference in our world. |

… My heroes are strong soldiers fighting for the freedom of our country. These soldiers have families and friends who are praying and awaiting the day of their return. They serve our country with honor and pride and push themselves to do their very best in everything that they do. My heroes are brave, proud and strong individuals who serve our country as American Soldiers.
