Military Services
With hundreds of local servicemen and women bravely serving our nation around the world, the assistance provided by our chapter was of notable importance in the past year. In addition to the 475 military family members who were educated about Red Cross Services to Armed Forces, nearly 250 local military families received vital assistance in times of crisis.

Our dedication to our armed forces begins with pre-deployment briefings to familiarize service members and their families with the Red Cross services available to them, including military support groups and aid societies. We provide crucial support for the families of those abroad and ensure reliable delivery of emergency messages from home. Upon returning home, service members are offered Red Cross aid and support through classes that assist in adapting to post-deployment challenges.

163rd Field Artillery Homecoming

Family members and other well-wishers provided a warm welcome for about 300 National Guard troops at a homecoming celebration in November 2008. The 163rd Field Artillery had been deployed to Iraq to provide security for convoys.
